A month long picture dump..

I hope you chaps have not been feeling neglected due to the lack of posts.

It has been a strange season all round and not just because of the lack of rain. I had a chat with a pal about it a while ago and what he told me has been mulling around in my […]

Dry Spell Continues!

So my dry spell continues despite a serious attack at the Pike yesterday.

A wee lochan which has been on my radar for quite some time was finally accessed using the tubes. The lochan could not look any more Pikey – it was entirely reed and lilly pad lined. In fact getting into the loch […]

Mixture…

I appear to have missed out posting some outings over the last few weeks however to be honest there has not been much to write home about.

Usually time off work means extra fishing however after my family holiday to Holland I just never got around to heading out after trout. Well, that is not […]

Friday Frolickers!

It was one of those days that had everything going for it – good pals, half decent weather and a fairly good fishing pass allowing me to access a few fishing spots. However, it turned out to be one of those days that turned into “its not just about catching fish”

That was absolutely awesome!

So the day finally dawned on not only the first trip out of the year but also the first time using a float tube. The temp was hovering around 5 degrees and did actually hit 3 as I went up and over the Dukes pass towards the destination. Alex wanted to meet at 5am however […]

Shaking off the cobwebs!

Because of all this I was thinking of re-branding the blog again, not that I won’t be fishing urban […]

I am so excited as I have bought a float tube!

I have already decided that the 2014 season is going to be great!

It is also going to be a bit different as well in that I have bought myself a Snowbee Float Tube

Seriously it is pretty much all I think about on the travel in and home from […]

Moving the home base!

I often state that I have the oldest running fly fishing blog and that comes with a rather interesting issue. It means that over the years you guys come to know a little bit about my personal life not just about my fishing exploits. I mean, you guys were with me when a finished my […]

Balmaha

We went for a walk along the banks of Loch Lomond today. I was struck at how beautiful it looked with the Autumn sunshine hitting off the still loch. I met some chaps fishing for Pike at a place I have never really thought of before (they must have had a half dozen rods out) […]

It happens too often…

I have a history with my pal Alex around having crazy days involving boats – Saturday was no different, due in part to the weather forecast which was was heavy rain for the whole day. It did not put us off though as we were heading back to Katrine in search of Pike and Trout. […]
