Picked up at 5.55am Arrived at 6.30am
Yea sure, I mean it LOOKS fishy! It rained on and off. Cast over a hundred times with streamers and an amazing popper that went Gloop, Gloop, Gloop! Caught one Pike of a few pounds. Left the loch at around 10am. Alex turned to [...] Well, a few days of interesting life has past since we last spoke. Yesterday I got the Whip out and took the boy to the canal for an hour – I only had the one worm and needless to say I believe the stories I have heard about the declining population [...] So I had one evening to go fishing and consequently a decision to make – would it be Pike or Trout? It was the conditions that made me wonder – you see I pretty much can only get out after 7pm once the boys are put to bed which pretty drastically cuts down on fishing [...] It is half five .. dawn is approaching .. I can hear bait fish …not see them as dawn is approaching ! Need to be at work for half nine! What is it they say – the biggerthere the wave the bigger the fly – well there is no wave and my flies are tiny. I am sitting here beside this lovely wee lake typing this – I will post it when I get some kind of reception on my phone. It has been boiling [...] Had a few casts in the blazing sunshine – needless to say I caught bugger all however that was not really the point. Fin enjoyed swinging around the rod as well …. Tonight is for a bbq and then an hour on a local tiny lake! [...] It was cold and the wind was blowing – usually I would just score some brownie points and sit it out knowing that in a few weeks things are going to look a lot better weather wise for trout fishing however there was an itch that had to be scratched and that itch was for [...] A mornings Piking produced one fish, a sodden crotch and a broken rod – good job I found my lucky hat or there could have been some serious casualties that’s all I can say.
