This picture was actually sent to me by a chap called Tommy – he photographed these weird long white worm like things sprouting from the river – like him I have absolutely no idea what they are – they were nowhere near any pipes etc.
Anyway – after a brief email exchange Paul was dispatched to checkout weird white long things – he has not got back to me yet – when he does I will let you know his findings. If he starts acting funnier we will know he is an alien.

They look like pollution control booms to mop up oil on the surface of water. Were they downstream of a construction area/building site?
Actually no – however they did have clips on either side to anchor them to the river – does that sound like what the booms use?
Well i guess you need something to hold them in place….Maybe they are being used for one of those duck races to catch all the ducks at the end….probably pollution control though. Where they solid or like fabric around some sort of filling?

Yeah… anti pollution booms, we use these at work. I wonder who has spilled what in the river.
