Disconnected from water and fly tying

9 June, 20229 June, 2022 by Alistair

Every Winter I say I am going to tie some flies and never do. I think it is because I am so far from catching a trout that there is some kind of emotional disconnect from the water or something. What this means of course is that I now find myself with a lack of flies that I need.

So now when I get out and notice I have a lack of something I then plan on tying up some flies for my next trip – there is something good knowing that flies may be tied up within a few days or even a night before a trip.

Some of us even tie up some flies next to the river…

In other news I have fixed the comments on the blog so you folk can actually comment again if you wish!

See you at the vice…

I like to take my tying gear with me when ever im away on a fishing holiday. It’s so enjoyable sitting around in the evenings blethering, having a beer, looking at maps and making plans for the next day and tying a few fresh patterns for the next few days ahead.
