First fish caught!!

28 April, 2004 by Alistair

Well, today I ventured out for the first few hours with my new manly waders. Im not saying they are lucky or anything but I did in fact have an absolutley great day. The first caught was on a little partridge n orange and then I moved on to dry flies. I tied on on of those little drys that I got off Bob Wyatt and then the fish just kept on coming. I was down at the vet school Just for the sheer fact it was close by.

In total I caught around 9 lovely brwonies, 2 of which were around the 8 ounce mark. What a fight they gave me, ducking and diving, dodging and weaving.
Unfortunetly I did not have my camera with me, or rather I did but I had forgotton to charge it up…….which was kinda silly….but hey…If i did I may not have caught the fish…..right??

Lots of bait fishers today, static bait fishers at that …….possibly may be converted though.. as I caught about 3 fish just down from them.

Hmmmmmm, so there I was deep in the water……I was thinking to myself…”I must look like some kinf of fishing GOD in my new waders. I then realised that my bag which was on my back was in the water as well, which meant all my stuff was soaking wet. Sheepishly, I tried to act cool whilst getting back out again.

My reel seems to have busted as well, for some reason it does not go clickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclick anymore it just sort of freelines. In fact Im going to go an dcheck it now!!
