Do you think your obsession with fishing grows ?

13 November, 200713 November, 2007 by Alistair

I have lots of work to do – I have one essay due in around 2 weeks and even though I have a good plan guess what am I thinking about constantly?

Yup – Pike slamming into my horrors down on the canal.

I think about it when driving, when falling asleep, in meetings, at my desk, in the shower, on the phone to colleagues….

Give it six months and it will be Trout!

Word has it the BWOs are hatching downriver, and I’m stuck driving to a place where they have no river to talk to a bunch of political people bent on taking our right to fish those rivers.

Thinking about it? Like you, I can’t stop…

I am haunted by thoughts of fishing at all hours of the day. An example: I have class at 9 a.m. tomorrow, it is now 1:45 a.m. and instead of getting a good night’s sleep I am obsessively reading fishing blogs. I am absolutely trout crazy, maybe I should start a support group.

I’ve informed my wife that I’m retiring at 40 whether it’s economically feasible or not. (It won’t be.) I could fish every day and not get bored.
The cruel twist of it all is that 8 hours fishing goes by like five minutes but when I’m forced to put a day’s work in at the office, the clock ticks backward.

    Sierra Trout – classic !

Pete – No way I can retire at 40 – have you considered playing the lottery? – I always think massive amounts of cash are wasted on people who dont fish. I am looking forward to the day that I see someone getting interviewed and they say “Oh yea sure, going to get the wife a new house and a fancy car….after that I am going to try and catch a massive trout ona dry fly………….in Russia”

But then I dont buy tickets……hmm i think I will buy one today……..It Could Be Yoooooooooo!!!

fishing has become a curse of sorts for me, at least an addiction, to the extent where a day without a cast feels like a total waste. Anybody else noticed how the conditions are always IDEAL when your in work?
