Hum ho - just back from a cold day after Pike - more on that later.
Thought I would let you know about some up coming reviews regarding the rods and reel I use for fly fishing for pike.
Loop Pike Booster Rod 9 foot for an 8/9
Esox Lucius Pike Fly Rod 9 foot for an 9/10
They will be up in that order over the next month.
I will also be reviewing the new DVD from Charles Rangeley-Wilson and learning whether the man can do no wrong !

Im looking forward to the reviews very much, a new pike fly set-up is on the cards and those two rods are strong contenders, looking forward to reading more than just a spec-sheet on them.

I know, I know - although to be fair its only been a week
I should have some nice photos of the Loop and a bit better understanding of its “fighting fishability factor” (I made that up) by Sunday - the review will then take around a week to write.
I just got the Essox Lucious last Sunday and have not cast it yet (I have swished it around my living room and garden though

Im now having second thoughts about getting a new rod, i wanted to upgrade my “cheapo” rod, but now that ive actually learned to fish with it i love it! It’s tough as old boots and puts out a nice line with ease. Never had anything upwards of 8 or 9 pounds on it though……
