An average xmas night out of a Kelvinator! I would like to wish all my readers are truly Urban Merry Christmas – or Winterfest or whatever it is people are calling this time of year – actually – looking back this is the first year I have called it Christmas for quite some [...] That’s it folks – we are over the hump. From now on the days are longer and we are heading towards spring – seeing as how it feels like yesterday we were fishing for the trout with dry flies I am hoping that spring will zoom upon us equally as fast ! http://www.timeanddate.com/calendar/december-solstice.html [...] 
Ok – even though I have caught grayling in the past it has been totally by accident, usually when I am on the Clyde fishing for trout I pick one or two up. I have only ever been proper grayling fishing once before and conditions were poor – not only was it cold [...] Right now I am stuck in the snow! Update: It took me around 4 hours to get home from work. So it is only a couple of days until the crazy kids that make up the river Kelvin angling fraternity meet up once more to discuss the parentage of the committee! I wonder what will happen this year – shock accusations, heartening confessions, threats of handbags at dawn – I think we have had them [...] I really enjoy having a fishing blog – you may have noticed this over the years! I enjoy it so much I recommend everyone has one – because of the success of Urban Fly Fisher everyone at one point appeared to want to create a website dedicated to the Kelvin [...] Long story short I caught feck all and had my picture taken holding a spinning rod – is this what I have been reduced to?

I jest – I jest – it was a nice being on the river when ordinarily I would be waiting some 150 [...] Aye – there has been fishing – a fair few trips if the truth be told – I am split between Pike and Troot at the moment – every time there is a bit of rain I think about Salmon on the Kelvin and then get annoyed about all the pishy nonsense that appears to [...] I got that Friday feeling – thankfully this week it was actually yesterday – today I had a day off – physiotherapy has instructed me to make sure my ankle does not seize up so I scheduled in a walk along the Kelvin valley – the boy accompanied me! First stop was the entrance into [...] I mean seriously – lets say it was an experiment totally sanctioned by the health board right – lets say they needed a half dozen people to eat a slice of human flesh for some totally unknown reason – you are not actually told what the reason is other than the test is not whether [...] |
