I have located the reason and the actual hole in my waders. I studied the area very very closely and it turns out its my fucking boots.
I noticed that the inner sole has slipped making some studs visable…when i ran my finger over them they were pretty raised and had been digging into my waders…………fucking boots, incidentally made by Vision as well!
Amyway, I have dolloped a rather large bit of aquawhateveritscalled on my stockingfoot (getting a little bit high in the process) and will reverse the waders tommorow and do the same on the other side……I should be fishing again by Sunday!! I had considered sending them back but Vision would do the exact same to them as I have just done, if you remmember that is what they did last time as well!!
Hi Alister,
Have been down at the river tonight and caught three nice fish, all was going well until I put my left foot down right on top of a broken Budwissier bottle.Result left boot of my waders now has a small cut in the sole. The annoying thing is that over the last few days I have been taking empty lager bottles and cans out of the river so as to stop things like this happing *!*! it. While I was at the river on Friday a couple of kids were bringing down a old metal table frame and some wood, when asked what they were up to they said they planned making a make shift bridge to get over to the golf coarse on the other side of the river. As I was asking them not to do this I connected with a nice little trout. Now the kids were intrested in what kid of fish it was and how I had caught it.They told me that they fish with their uncle but as they put it the other way of fishing with maggots and worms (spinning). They asked if it was a maggot or a worm I had used. Now the questions of what was the difference between flyfishing and spinning, fies, line, rod and reels. Another result this time a good one the kids then were more than willing to take the rubbish out of the river after or little chat on the fishing and why it would be better for the river and the fish. Also put them right on how it could be dangerous to both themselfs and others who use the river. Maybe a couple of flyfishing converts in the future.
Sounds good to me Jim, now when you say tonight I take it you mean last night so the little spate has cleared….hmmmm think I may head down to the kelvin today!
