Woohoo, first day out this season and i blanked. There was not much fly life although I did see a couple of rises. Ironically just now as i sit typing this the sun is streaming through the window and this might have sparked some life into teh insects.

Looks nice eh.
Today when Claire was in the garage i got i went out and had a look down at the river. Seen a trout rise for a fly. Thats like the first rise ive seen all year. Someone mailed me to tell me they got another fish yesterday…..obviously just to rub [...]

Furled Leaders

Ive bought one of those furled leaders
over at Highlanders site. . They look mighty fine.
They are hand-woven leaders & represent a vast improvement over nylon & braided types. For top water & sub surface fly fishing they are without equal.

The Park

Went for a walk yesterday down through Kelvingrove Park to scout it out for the new season. Its looking absolutelly lovely.
There is a couple of weirs like this
and there is some lovely fly water all around this area.
Those rocks just look perfect for a litte wet fly.
