Jim picked me up at around 1000, after cutting some wood for the old woodburner we were at the river by around 12. It started to rain pretty heavily although ever the optimist I stated that the forecast was for sunshine and showers which equaled perfect olive hatching weather and consequently huge trout slurping action.
We fled the river after seeing not even a hint of a trout, we both used nymphs as well.
I need to score some brownie points over the next week or so. Saying that though it is my 40th in a couple of weeks so will have a week of work and will quite possibly be able to get some free passes.
Anyone else been fishing?
Well, I have been fishing.
Annual seatrout trip to Denmark which was very tough going this year.
Found out the hard way that my waders where not watertight anymore,
water temperature was 7 degrees C.
Fish where far and between, caught two – lost two and had a couple of takes.
Weather was all you can expect in April up north, all that you can imagine allthough
it did not hail this time.
Having said that I surely prefer to stand in the Baltic sea with leaky waders in
Denmark than sitting in the office any day.
Any pointers for good waders that might last a little longer with regular use ?
had a trip to carron dam on Monday ! blanked tho 🙁 still good to get out there
Marcel, breathable waders come in two types: those that are leaking and those that are about to start leaking irrespective of age 😉
I know, I wast just hoping somebody had found the holy grail of breathable waders 🙂
