Ive been away in Birmingham for a few days.
Its funny I always think as I shoot along the M8 and then the M6 that I always gaze at the little bits of water that i glimpse through the trees. I dont drive just now, im learning, so i have plenty of time gazing at the little flashes of blue, sometimes its big rivers like the River Eden, which we passed over and the little bit of The Clyde that looks lovely. But other times its the littre rivers i see, the little burns and brooks and i wonder what they would be like to fish. i suppose when I learn to drive they will be more open to me, although my sense of direction is hopeless. I would probably get lost.
Those wee brooks and burns look lovely, i see little rocky runs through trees and think about just how much fun you could have down there with a fly rod and plenty of time, a hot summers day shielded by the trees casting into the little shadows with a wet fly. ahhhhhhh bliss!!
Im going to be sending my Greys reel back to them for repair, i will let you know how THAT goes, its never been right since i was conned into it by the Glasgow Angling Tesco shop. So im faced with a week without fishing or I look out one of my old reels and stick my line on that, I think I will look out an old reel. should be fun I supose….##shudders at the thought of knots##
