I picked up one of these bags in New York. I had just bought a new rod and was panicking about how to get it home. The reason for buying this one over the other offerings was that this one was cheaper and it looked slightly more rugged than the others.
Here is what Fishpond has to say:
Protection for the journey. Our new Voyager Travel Rod Tube Bags are designed to keep your travel rods safe and secure no matter where your travels take you. Available in two sizes to accommodate three, four and five-piece travel rod tubes, our Voyager bags feature a durable, padded case to protect your rods from the “bumps and bruises” of land, water or air travel.

The bag has the space to accept 3 tubes with a little more room for you to maybe fit a reel in the main compartment - I would feel edgy however doing this if the case was going in the hold of a plane - who knows what other bags are being put on top and could potentially damage the reel. It is padded however knowing the weight of suitcases I would be just happy stowing the breakables like reels etc in my actual luggage and letting this bag look after the rods.

The reel could be stowed in the nice big side pockets and this is what I will do when going on camping holidays - but not on planes for the reasons above.

When it comes to security the zips can be locked together (if you have a lock) and this did in fact make me feel a little more comfortable when waving goodbye to my rod on the conveyer belt. At least if the rod was stolen out the bag they would have to rip the bag, thus proving something was actually inside it worth stealing - hello insurance !!

There is another couple of nice features - a big hook for hanging the bag up in a wardrobe and a little place to put your name and address. I like it

At the baggage check we realised that we could not take Claires new brolly on the plane. We got past this by attaching the box to the bag with sticky tape which was wrapped around several times. It did not leave a mark.
I am happy with it.
