Thanks Neil - yea the rivers need a good rainfall to get them topped up and to wash away all the weed that is building up. I am hoping that we get some rain over the next few days. Saying that, when the kelvin is very low it makes some of the stretches way above Killermont fishable with the fly if you enjoy wading up to your chest and casting to spookt trout - fantastic fun :-)

Hi Al,

We went up on the Sunday morning at about 5am! I actually planned to be up there earlier.
We managed a few of the usual 6/7 inch browns and a few rises around lunch time.

Have been back up a few times since that visit and blanked. The river is in need of a good rainfall.

p.s. What a lovely grayling Alistair. Well done.

Hi,

Great idea Alistair!

Had planned to go up the the kelvin tonight or sunday morning but decided instead of taxi fares up and down, I'd hire a car for a couple days.. Saturday 9am 'till Monday 9am.. and only £39 from 1car1.. and do both.. fish tonight and Sunday morning.. and possibly night if I can get away with it!..

I collected the car this morning and after work Debbie and I set off up to the Vet School. Got to a few sets of traffic lights away from the Vet School when we had to pull in as there was smoke coming out the vents and out from below the hood! We waited an hour for the AA to arrive while it poured down.. To cut the long story (kinda) short.. The idots at the rental company had forgot to replace the oil cap! The AA driver followed us back home to Shawlands and advised us not to drive the car and call the rental company on Monday! Great!!!

So... we're back to square one! and left with another delema.. and using taxi's again... fish early, early Sunday morning or Sunday evening..

What's best??

Any thoughts?
