Hi everyone.  I'm just back from the states after a few weeks holiday and managed to get out on the Gryffe on Sunday afternoon for a couple hours.  I was in a lazy mood and decided to just fish a dry and emerger dropper (versus rigging up for nymphs).  I was after trout but actually caught more grayling than trout… although I did catch my best trout this year.

Last fall I was living in Portsmouth and was fortunate to get to fish a number of rivers for Grayling and absolutely loved it.  Are they prolific in most trout waters around central Scoland as well?  I knew they were in the Gryffe, had caught some small ones earlier in the year.. but the ones I caught on Sunday were all quality fish.  Are they in the Kelvin as well?

Just curious… with the trout season ending so soon.  Thanks!

There are none in the Kelvin as far as I am aware, rivers not too far from Glasgow are Clyde, Nith, Annan, Tay, Tummel, Earn etc.

Thanks Andy and Davie for the advice. I've been traveling on business the last two weeks but managed to catch this one on the River Fromme in Dorsett while down south last week. Looking to get out around Glasgow area this weekend.
