End of season thoughts 1

As usual at this time of year I am on the lookout for some good books to read over the winter- that whet my appetite for the coming year.

I was discussing the end of the season with Mike on our last trout session together; we both agreed that we did in fact enjoy the end of the season and the chance to look at other pursuits. I like to read, go after some other fish when I can and do a spot of fly tying for the next season among other things. Mike however likes to go hill walking in winter and dig snow holes.

Scottish Highlands (Hillwalking Guide S.)

I quite fancy this book for the coming year…
A Man May Fish

It came highly recommended by a pal, I have added it to my wishlist just in time for christmas. :)

Boy, I don’t know who that ‘mike’ guy is but he sounds like a real man. I bet he’s a fantastic fisherman as well. You should really get to know someone like that sir Al.

    Hey Mr M,

I dont know about the fantastic fisherman part as he has a thing about casting- spends a lot of time thinking about it, gets in the way of any actual fishing.

I think he “knows” Ally Gowan though……

Ooh, yes, I want to have a look at that Kingsmill book. Heard some good things about it. Unfortunately the library doesn’t have it, so may have to fork out. Or I could just get the Jon Beer books out…again…
