You know, I might just have caught my last trout of the season today, well from the Kelvin anyway. I fished one of the tributaries and it was pretty dour, the water was at a good height but there was just no action at all, no fly life and no rises. I headed down to […]
Sometimes last minute fishing trips can be quite good, anything can happen, you can turn up and there is a lovely hatch or you are there just at that point when the trout just seem to want to eat just about any old fly (generally any old fly is the one I use anyway). The […]
and even more pissing rain…
Just goes to show that you can in fact get too much of a good thing. The river is like hot chocolate (although cold) and looks to stay like that untill the brown trout season ends. If we have two days respite one of the […]
A couple of weeks left trout fishing, the weather has grown cold and I will be starting a new job shortly as well. I would like to say that I will be fishing every day until the season closes but I doubt it as wedding plans are being made (and seemingly I have to do […]

So I had a very short session today down at one of the tributaries. I had to wait in for a phone call about a job so did not have much time. It was cold, so cold that I could see my breath. After I had caught my first trout…. …..my hands were pretty cold […]
So there was a crowd of poachers at the Junction pool of the Allander and the Kelvin. They were using nets seemingly to catch fish. A joint effort between two police forces nabbed them after a nearby resident raised the alarm when one of them attacked a young boy and beat him up.
I have added a little “contact me” widget in the pages section on the right hand side. Feel free to drop me a line if you have not already and we can talk fish!
