It was like a scene from Jaws – the first one – do you remember the bit where Jaws comes close in to the shore and take the boy from the surface as if he was a popper – it was like that today at the canal. Before I tell you about what happened I [...] It is half five .. dawn is approaching .. I can hear bait fish …not see them as dawn is approaching ! Need to be at work for half nine! This was as exciting as it got… It was cold and the wind was blowing – usually I would just score some brownie points and sit it out knowing that in a few weeks things are going to look a lot better weather wise for trout fishing however there was an itch that had to be scratched and that itch was for [...] Nicolas Valentin has been getting up to no good with his kayak.

Nicolas Valentin is an employee of the Glasgow Angling Centre – I have got to admit he is one of the guys that actually changed my mind about the place – I used to stare at the rows of rods through surly eyes and complain at the lack of soul the whole store had! For [...] A mornings Piking produced one fish, a sodden crotch and a broken rod – good job I found my lucky hat or there could have been some serious casualties that’s all I can say.
