Bass are supposed to be excellent fun on fly gear, I suppose theoretically any fish that eat’s bugs, frogs or live fish can be taken on the fly.

Having grown up in the South where bass, catfish, crappie and bream are the targeted species, I know next to nothing about fly fishing. Your blog is giving me an education.

Ta much alistair,I do have a habit of talking shite when I get excited! I’ve not been fishing the canal much for pike, perch more often than not. I can’t bring myself to chase pike too much locally anymore, because i know it wont bea patch on that trip on my page

I was out for a couple of hours today, i pestered a few small pike I spotted to no avail. I love sight fishing, easily the best thing about summer!
